The HRH Crown Princess Katherine Foundation has been an active partner of medical institutions throughout Serbia, making its first equipment donation to the University Children’s Hospital in Belgrade 22 years ago. Medical equipment donations remain a Foundation priority and Crown Princess Katherine, as the patron of the Foundation and Lifeline, has delivered incubators, ambulances and medical equipment to every hospital in Serbia.

Thanks to the support of Lifeline New York another valuable patient monitor was delivered to the University Children’s Hospital in Tirosova. Fundraising for this equipment was provided from an event held in San Marcos, California where the local Serbian community along with the Mayor of San Marcos, Mr. Jim Desmond, joined the Royal Couple in their long term mission to improve neonatal care in Serbia.

“I am very grateful to our people in the Diaspora for supporting my Foundation to equip neonatal intensive care units in Serbia. Thanks to the efforts of Daniela Bosnjak for organizing the fundraising mission that has made this possible. My husband and I are looking forward to expanding our relationship with these communities to continue to improve the quality of medical care throughout Serbia” shared HRH Crown Princess Katherine.

Dr. Svetlana Basta the dentist for over 2,000 children only request was to receive pliers to pull the children’s teeth. Her dental chair was 30 years old and the sterilizing machine was 25 years old. Lifeline donated more than pliers, with a donation from Niles Rotary the whole dentist office was refurbished. A special thanks to Dr. Pete Grubnich and Dr. Christina Rudman for their donations of dental equipment.

Empty cupboards and and old sterilization machine. Many people went through this office promising to help but Lifeline came through and made a difference.
