CROWN PRINCESS KATHERINE CONTINUES TO HELP ELEMENTARY SCHOOL IN SUVI DO, SERBIA

Another donation to the Elementary school “Mosa Pijade” in the village of Suvi Do in Municipality of Zagubica, Serbia was made by Lifeline Humanitarian Organization of Chicago and HRH Crown Princess Katherine Foundation. This was possible thanks to generous people from the Nelson Family Charitable Foundation and the John and Mildred Medic Wuchenich Foundation, who provided the pupils and teachers of this school with better learning and living conditions.

After the renovation of first two classrooms, which was also provided by Lifeline Chicago and Crown Princess Foundation in November 2020, the school needed to open a third classroom, for which they received a donation of new furniture - 12 children tables, 34 children chairs, 1 teacher’s desk, 1 teacher’s chair, and 2 whiteboards. This donation was made possible by the Nelson Family Charitable Foundation. Also, a complete renovation of one toilet was done, provided by a contribution from the John and Mildred Medic Wuchenich Foundation.

“Our children deserve to have the best possible conditions for learning so they can attend classes carefree and safe, in a nice working environment. That is why this donation is so important, and I am very grateful to the Nelson Family Charitable Foundation and the John and Mildred Medic Wuchenich Foundation, who have generously been supporting the work of Lifeline Chicago and my Foundation in Belgrade for many years. 

Together, we have made a lot of children in Serbia happy. I am so glad that our people in the diaspora want to help our country and have not forgotten their homeland. They show that when there is love in and willingness to help, we can do so much for the benefit of the children, who are our biggest treasure”, said HRH Crown Princess Katherine. 

“On behalf of the students, the staff of the elementary school "Moša Pijade" and on my behalf, I would like to thank the HRH Crown Princess Katherine’s Foundation for the donation of furniture for the classroom (school desks, school chairs, white school boards,) as well as for the reconstruction and the renovation of the school toilet.

The donation means a lot to the school and the students because it provides better conditions for the pupils in the department of the elementary school "Moša Pijade" from Žagubica in village Suvi Do”, said Ms. Suncica Jovic, school principal.
