TRH visited St. Sava church in Cambridge, MA

TRH visited St. Sava church in Cambridge to help raise funds for the namesake cathedral in Manhattan that recently burned down. This church was a home away from the home of the Prince and his parents, King Petar ll, and Queen Aleksandra during their exile.

“My father King Peter II was very much connected to St. Sava Cathedral in New York City over several decades. This church belonged to Protestant church in the past, but St. Bishop Nikolaj instigated the purchase for the Serbian Orthodox Cathedral in 1944. My father often attended services and gatherings of our people at this cathedral, and my family and I continued that tradition. In our times of exile, this cathedral was spiritual oasis for my family and me, where we always find consolation and ease our homesickness.
My wife and I have attended several fund raising events in New York for the cathedral. We were in communication during the night with Father Djokan, and will meet with him later this month to see how we could help for the future of this valuable Serbian sanctuary”.
