CROWN PRINCESS KATHERINE OPENS SENSORY ROOM IN "MARA MANDIC" SCHOOL IN PANCEVO
02 Jun 2017
Pancevo, 2 June 2017 – Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Katherine officially opened a new sensory room at the school for children with special needs “Mara Mandic” in Pancevo. The value of the sensory room is about 1.5 million dinars, and the funds for the purchase were raised at a charity auction in London of the paintings and clothes donated by the Serbian artist Cile Marinkovic and the famous fashion designer Roksanda Ilincic.
“The occasion of my today’s visit is the donation of the sensory room worth twelve thousand euros that we raised in London, and in that were helped by Cile Marinkovic and Roksanda Ilincic. We hope that in this way we will brighten up the children’s day in school and make it at least a little easier. My foundation will continue to help children in Serbia who need our help”, said Princess Katherine.
Mr. Branko Kurilj, director of the school “Mara Mandic”, as well as the entire staff of the school on this occasion thanked Crown Princess Katherine for the donation and expressed their desire to cooperate in new humanitarian projects.
Sensory room is made up of different elements that help stimulate the senses of hearing, sight, touch and smell. It is the place where people with sensory integration disorder can explore and develop their sensory skills, but also relax from stress and tension.
