PRINCESS KATHERINE DONATES MEDICAL EQUIPMENT TO VOJVODINA ONCOLOGY INSTITUTE
01 Jul 2019
Her Royal Highness Princess Katherine officially handed over a donation worth over $ 15,000 to the Institute of Oncology of Vojvodina. The Princess Katherine Foundation made this important donation in cooperation with the Stavros Niarchos Foundation in New York. The donation consists of 8 infusion pumps that are used to precisely dosage drugs and fluids for the most seriously ill patients. "The Stavros Niarchos Foundation is our long-standing friend and partner, with which we have delivered medical equipment worth more than one million dollars to several health centers in Serbia over the past years. Only this week, besides the donation in Novi Sad, we will also provide donations for the Clinical Center in Nis and the Institute for Oncology and Radiology in Belgrade, totaling over $100,000. For my humanitarian work, most important are individuals and organizations with a big heart. My foundation and I will continue our work to help Serbia's healthcare system" - said HRH Princess Katherine. Prof. Dr. Zoran Radovanović, Director of the Institute, thanked HRH Princess Katherine for this donation and expressed his wish to continue such successful cooperation with her Foundation. In addition to the assistance in procurement of medical equipment and materials, the foundation of HRH Princess Katherine organizes education for doctors, as well as professional visits of experts to health institutions in Serbia. The last in a series of such events is the 10th Jubilee Congress of the Serbian Medical Diaspora, which was recently held in Belgrade. The next Congress of the Serbian Medical Diaspora will be held from 18 to 20 June 2020 in Belgrade. |
