02 Jul 2019
Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Katherine officially handed over a donation worth $ 57,500 today to the Center for Radiology of the Clinical Center Nis. The Princess Katherine Foundation made this important donation in cooperation with the Stavros Niarchos Foundation in New York.
"The Stavros Niarchos Foundation is our long-standing friend and partner, with whom we have, in recent years, delivered a mobile mammography to the Clinical Center Nis and other medical equipment worth over one million dollars. For my humanitarian work, the most important are individuals and organizations with a big heart. My foundation and I will continue our work to help the health of Serbia” – said HRH Princess Katherine in her speech.
Prof. Dr. Zoran Radovanović, director of the Clinical Center Niš thanked HRH Princess Katherine for this donation and expressed his wish to continue this successful cooperation between her Foundation and the Clinical Center in Niš.
Princess Katherine Foundation has been advocating for the prevention of breast cancer for long and often donates equipment used in the diagnosis and treatment of this serious illness. In addition to the assistance in procurement of medical equipment and materials, the foundation of HRH Princess Katherine organizes education for doctors, as well as professional visits of experts to health institutions in Serbia. The last in a series of such events is the 10th Jubilee Congress of the Serbian Medical Diaspora, which was recently held in Belgrade.
